ULM fires head football coach Todd Berry

The Warhawks have the latest coach opening.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Louisiana-Monroe has fired head coach Todd Berry, the school announced. The move comes after a 59-21 loss to Arkansas State Saturday that put the team at a 1-9 record in the Sun Belt. Defensive line coach John Mumford has been named interim head coach.

At ULM, Berry had been the school’s head coach since 2010. His tenure’s highlight was an 8-5 record in 2012, highlighted by a opening upset against Arkansas. However, ULM struggled to sustain this success, putting up marks of 6-6 and 4-8 in 2013 and 2014, respectively. This season, ULM currently holds a last-place standing in the Sun Belt and in the midst of an eight-game losing streak.

His time in Monroe will be be remembered most as the tenure that brought us the two-quarterback offense, which the Warhawks tried out with some success.

Previously, Berry was head coach at Illinois State from 1996 to 1999 and Army from 2000 to 2003. At both schools, he had respective career marks of 24-24 and 5-35. Berry leaves ULM with a 28-43 record.
