Gary Pinkel won after an emotional week, so Mizzou players crashed his interview for a dance party

Missouri players and fans chanted the coach’s name the day after he announced his impending resignation.

After a week filled with internal turmoil and coach Gary Pinkel’s announced resignation due to health reasons, Missouri pulled out a 20-16 win over BYU on Saturday.

For the fans in attendance, the emotional win doubled as a chance to celebrate Pinkel’s tenure:

His players also crashed his postgame interview, surrounded him for hugs, chanted his name, and eventually got him dancing a little bit. From the SEC Network:

“What they went through this week, it says so much about the team. Those guys mean so much to me,” Pinkel said on camera. “I tried to ignore [the chants] so I could focus on what I’m doing, but I love Mizzou.”
