How much coaching change is on the way for LSU?

Good morning! It’s your wakeup roundup of college football stuff.

Crystal LoGiudice-USA TODAY Sports

After that loss, things are gonna change at LSU. Everything from Les Miles to lots of coaching staff shakeup is on the table:

If LSU loses to Ole Miss on Saturday, it will be the first three-game losing streak since that final season of Gerry DiNardo. If it goes beyond that, well ... that’s just not acceptable.

End of the Les Miles Era? I don’t know. Is there the political will at a university that has been utterly bludgeoned by budget cuts to pay an eight-figure buyout, plus hand out another $4-5 million contract to another head coach? Even with TAF and the athletic department in the best financial shape in decades, I can’t answer that.

I do, however, feel safe in saying that this overall coaching staff, as currently constituted, will not be back next season.

About Missouri. Steven Godfrey took a former Tiger player into the stands for Missouri-BYU after such an eventful week. Bill Connelly has the retrospective on Gary Pinkel's 15-year tenure as the head coach of the Tigers, and the scary reality of heading into the unknown of the coaching market.

In less positive news, Missouri had a decommitment who cited concerns about his safety at the school among his reason for leaving Missouri's class.

Let’s predict! The Playoff rankings come out tonight, and as always, we’re going to get some bizarre explanations for teams moving around. Let’s get ahead of it and guess why LSU, Stanford, Utah and Baylor are ranked where they are.

Odds now! Derrick Henry and Ezekiel Elliott are both right there with Leonard Fournette in Bovada’s updated Heisman odds. Meanwhile, after pulling even with Ohio State last week, Alabama is now alone at the top of the national championship odds.

Who does Mike Leach think should win the Heisman Trophy? Why, Washington State quarterback Luke Falk, of course!

That’s not the problem. Barring some serious insanity over the next few weeks, the Pac-12 will not have a representative in the College Football Playoff. Its nine-game conference schedule is not the reason why.

Whether Bill O’Brien wants the Maryland job or not, it’s time to assess how he’d do.

Numbers love the Sooners, who are up to No. 4 in Bill C.‘s S&P+ rating.

Numbers are mad at the Irish, who didn’t play very well at all against Wake Forest.

Vince Young wishes he would’ve just “shut up and played football.”

Limping to the finish. Trevone Boykin and Josh Doctson are both questionable for TCU’s game against Oklahoma. It’s hard to imagine the Frogs ruining the Sooners’ late-season Playoff run with those two on the sideline.

TONIGHT! Tuesday night is the I-75 rivalry showdown between Bowling Green and Toledo in MAC country. It also could be a preview of the MAC title game.

Mizzou’s next coach? Rock M Nation is looking at exactly three names. Two are on everybody’s list, and one is unique to the Tigers. We’ve got a list for ULM, too.

Almost! A news station in South Carolina credited Dabo Swinney with creating the dab, the latest and greatest dance celebration sweeping through football. That, of course, is not correct.

Actually, Indiana fans are tired of their team entertaining you with its exciting near-wins and just want some wins.
