— The SEC Logo (@SEC_Logo) November 21, 2015 SEC Network scoreboard shows Alabama’s opponent is ranked! Ranked in the FCS top 25, but ranked!

This week is the annual SEC-SoCon Challenge, when teams from the Southeastern Conference all play bad teams, as if this is September or something! This makes people mad, but as South Carolina showed by losing to The Citadel (and SEC East champion Florida by nearly losing to 2-8 FAU), you can’t take the Challenge for granted.
Meanwhile, the SEC Network’s doing Alabama a favor by listing Charleston Southern’s ranking in the FCS coaches poll. If you’re just tuning into a college football game for the first time, you’re really impressed by the opponent Alabama’s chosen to face.
My favorite part: the SEC Network didn’t use CSU’s ranking in the FCS media poll, which is a lowly No. 9.
Earlier in the week, Nick Saban defended the idea of playing lower-level teams in November by saying Georgia Southern “ran through us like shit through a tin horn.”
