Washington State QB Luke Falk gives thumbs up while being carted off field after injury

One of the nation’s most prolific passers took another hard knock.

Washington State quarterback Luke Falk was carted off the field after suffering a scary injury in the Cougars’ Saturday night game against Colorado.

Falk was twisted down on a sack in the third quarter of the game, with his helmet visibly bouncing off the ground as he was brought to the turf. And after Falk briefly left Washington State’s game against UCLA last week after another blow to the head, it’s certainly worrying to see his helmet hitting the ground hard once again.

There was good news, too, though. Falk waved his arms around at length while being carted off, eventually giving fans a double thumbs-up.

And ESPN’s broadcast reported that Falk was taken to the locker room for evaluation, not to a medical facility. Those are both encouraging signs for one of the country’s most prolific passers.

Falk had thrown for 199 yards and a touchdown at the time of his injury. He has been replaced by backup Peyton Bender.
