Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer isn’t done just yet. The longest-tenured head coach in FBS football, who has announced his retirement at the end of the season, sealed a 23rd consecutive bowl appearance for the Hokies with a 23-20 win over rival Virginia.

Beamer was unusually ecstatic after a game-sealing interception, celebrating with loyal assistant Bud Foster and the head coach’s son, associate head coach Shane Beamer.
Reports from Saturday indicate that Foster and Shane Beamer will remain on Virginia Tech’s staff next season under new coach Justin Fuente. All in all, it was a great day for a great coach.
