This Alabama WR did so many little things right to make this touchdown count

Amazing catch, amazing sideline awareness.

Calvin Ridley made a brilliant touchdown snag over and through the arm of Michigan State defender Jermaine Edmondson. It was called an incomplete pass on the field, but PYLON CAM helped the referees realize Ridley managed to get a foot down inbounds after controlling the ball.

With both feet clearly in bounds, the only question was whether or not Ridley had full control of the ball when his feet were down inbounds, or whether he got control after his momentum carried him out of bounds. It looks like he did manage to snag the ball, and that makes it a touchdown.

It's impressive enough that Ridley managed to snag this ball around the arm of a defender. But he also had the presence of his mind to keep his heel elevated as he backpedaled towards the sideline to allow his foot to come down inbounds. That's incredible. This wasn't even the only ridiculous catch Ridley made tonight.

After the catch, the score was 17-0, and if Michigan State keeps up their current pace of zero points per quarter, they probably will not win.
