NFL Draft results showing how scary-loaded Ohio State is for 2015

The national champions had plenty of first-round talent last season. It’s just that they get to keep it all for this season, too.

We know Ohio State was college football’s best team last season. We know the Buckeyes are one of the sport’s most experienced teams for 2015, including three quarterbacks who are all likely better than your school’s starter. And we know OSU dominated its conference in recruiting more than any other team in the country did.

Now we’re learning that, among the few players the Buckeyes did lose, none was judged to be a first-rounder by the NFL. (Complete, live results here.) While OSU’s losses include major talents like defensive lineman Michael Bennett and receiver Devin Smith, we’re talking about gotdamn 6-7 Miami having multiple first-round holes to fill while the defending champions have none.

The last title team to not lose a first-rounder was 2002’s Ohio State, which followed up its 14-0 season with a No. 4 AP finish.

Just looking at the names that could load up next year’s draft should keep the rest of the Big Ten up at night doing crunches and stuff.

Defensive end Joey Bosa is already considered a potential top-10 pick, quarterbacks Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett look like first-round contenders, Joshua Perry led OSU in tackles, Ezekiel Elliott had more rushing yards than any other returnee else anywhere, safety Vonn Bell tied for fourth among all returnees with six interceptions, and one of the nation’s best offensive lines brings back four of five starters. And DT Adolphus Washington is mean and good and scary.

And there are others. And there are proven contributors who won’t even be eligible for the draft until 2017. And probably freshmen soon to emerge. I need to lie down.
