— EMU Football (@EMUFB) August 13, 2015 The uniforms, which trade in EMU’s typical green-heavy design for the gray of a stainless steel diamond plate, are clearly inspired by Oregon’s silver-on-white alternates from last season’s national championship game.
The diamond plate, commonly seen on tractor trailers and toolboxes, is a nice touch for a program that has adopted a construction persona under second-year coach Chris Creighton. Hopefully, this nod to the working man is more effective than last year’s.
Eastern Michigan opens its 2015 season on September 5 against Old Dominion.
