The Auburn Tigers’ season debut versus Louisville was a bit uneven, but this weekend offers a chance for some improvement as FCS Jacksonville State comes to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
How to watch Jacksonville State vs. Auburn on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Auburn takes on an in-state FCS power.
The Gamecocks -- located in Jacksonville, Ala. -- are currently fifth in the STATS, Inc. FCS Top 25, and sixth in the FCS coaches poll after beating Chattanooga 23-20 in week one. JSU won 10 games and the Ohio Valley Conference championship last season, falling to Sam Houston State in round two of the FCS playoffs.
Auburn quarterback Jeremy Johnson threw three interceptions in week one after an offseason of hype, but did manage to account for a touchdown through the air and on the ground as well. More importantly, if you’re an Auburn fan, new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp had the defense causing some havoc, forcing nine tackles for loss against the Cardinals, including four sacks, plus an interception and a fumble scoop-and-score.

Three big things to know
1. Leading the way?
Auburn has had the SEC’s leading rushing in each of Gus Malzahn’s two seasons as head coach. But last week it was sophomore Peyton Barber leading the team with 115 yards over the more-heralded Jovon Robinson and Roc Thomas. Is he next in line?
2. Back on track
Jeremy Johnson became a hot name this summer, especially at SEC Media Days, and they’re going to need him to contribute in the passing game eventually. JSU should be a get-right game after the rough time in week one.
3. JSU can run the ball
Jacksonville State rushed for 298 yards in week one, led by Troymaine Pope’s 173 yards on 15 carries. Auburn gave up 238 yards on the ground to Louisville. They’d like to clean that up a bit.
