Last week, Kentucky broke a long SEC road-game losing streak to South Carolina, and this week they come home to Commonwealth Stadium to try and break another one against the Florida Gators.
How to watch Florida vs. Kentucky on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Florida heads to Kentucky to face a team hungry to end a long winning streak.
This matchup of 2-0 squads will give the winner a small leg up in an SEC East that still looks wide open for the taking.
Florida comes off a 31-24 win over East Carolina that was a bit too close for comfort, and had first-year head coach Jim McElwain ... perturbed. The Pirates managed to grab a 14-10 lead in the third quarter and were on the doorstep with a chance to tie in the final minute before a fumble. The Gators allowed 346 yards passing to East Carolina, which is less than ideal matching up against Kentucky junior Patrick Towles, who threw for 369 yards against Florida last season. Towles was held to just 192 passing yards last week, but managed to compete 21 of his 29 passes.

Three big things to know
1. 28 Years
The last Kentucky win over Florida has finished law school and is settled down with a wife, a toddler and a mortgage in the suburbs. The Gators escaped this streak last season with a 36-30 win in triple-overtime, one that was not without some controversy. This time, they have to come to a Commonwealth Stadium that will be hungry after Kentucky’s first conference road win in six seasons.
2. Two heads better?
Redshirt freshman Will Grier started the East Carolina game for Florida and completed 10 of 17 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns versus one interception, but sophomore Treon Harris still saw some time himself, completing 5-of-8 passing for 54 yards and adding another 32 yards rushing. So who will it be? Kentucky has held ULL and South Carolina to a combined 115.3 passer rating in the first two games, so the Gators may not want to going cold with a rotation.
3. Boom, boom, BOOM
Kentucky tailback Stanley “Boom” Williams has lived up to his nickname as a sophomore, at least through two games. With 242 yards on 24 carries, his 10.2 rushing average leads all SEC backs with more than 20 carries. His 107 yards helped lead the Wildcats to last week’s win, but he’ll have his work cut out against a Florida defense that has allowed just 51 yards on 44 carries through two games.
