The SEC East gauntlet ... okay, maybe gauntlet is the wrong word ... stroll? Sojourn? Anyway, somebody has to win the thing, and this weekend will start the path to figuring out who when South Carolina heads down to Athens to take on the seventh-ranked Georgia Bulldogs.
How to watch South Carolina vs. Georgia on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Steve Spurrier versus one of his favorite opponents.
Georgia’s coming off a 31-14 win over Vanderbilt that left the team with quite a few questions, particularly at quarterback. Quarterback Greyson Lambert failed to complete a single pass in the first half. Backup Brice Ramsey has seen time in both of the Dawgs’ first two games, but Richt has stressed that Lambert is still No. 1.
The Gamecocks have similar quarterback issues after losing starter Connor Mitch to a shoulder injury for at least a few games. Perry Orth will get the start in Mitch's place. The junior came off the bench last week against Kentucky and completed 13 of 20 passes, but couldn't lead South Carolina back in a 26-22 loss.

Three big things to know
1. Spurrier vs. State of Georgia
The Ole Ball Coach has always been known for his quick wit, but on the field he saves his hottest fire for the Bulldogs. Between his stints at Florida and South Carolina Spurrier is 16-6 against UGA, including four out of the last five. From a flea flicker call to run the score up to 52-17 in a 1995 win to this fake punt in 2011, he always has a trick or two ready to pull out. South Carolina handed Georgia their only regular season conference losses in 2011 and 2012, and converted a fourth down late last season to defeat the Bulldogs 38-35.
2. Nick Chubb
Georgia’s Heisman Trophy candidate tailback is averaging 8.8 yards per carry through two games and is always worth watching. He also has a little extra motivation stemming from a possible slight from Spurrier in recruiting. Regardless, with the Bulldog passing game struggling and South Carolina’s run defense allowing more than 200 yards per game so far, this could be a showcase game for the Georgia sophomore.
The Gamecock junior wideout may be the most versatile offensive player in the league. So far on the season he has 12 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown, another four rushing attempts for 20 yards plus another two passing attempts. Given the quarterback situation, expect Spurrier to dial up a few ball plays for his best player.
