College football odds, Week 4: UCLA joins Ohio State, Ole Miss as betting favorites

The UCLA Bruins join the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Ole Miss Rebels as betting favorites in the opening odds for Week 4 of the college football season.

The UCLA Bruins are 8-0 straight up and 5-3 against the spread over their last eight games on the road. The Bruins will be hoping for continued road success when they visit the Arizona Wildcats this Saturday night in a key Pac-12 South battle.

UCLA is a 3-point road favorite in Saturday night's game, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Bruins narrowly escaped their first loss of the season on Saturday with a 24-23 come-from-behind home victory over BYU. Arizona is 8-1 SU in its last nine September home games but are just 3-5-1 ATS over that stretch.

Both Southern California Pac-12 schools are headed to Arizona this week with the USC Trojans set to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils. USC suffered a 41-31 home loss to Stanford as a 10-point favorite on Saturday, and enters this game with a 1-4 SU and ATS record in its last five September road games.

Arizona State is 5-1 ATS in its last six games against the Trojans, according to the OddsShark College Football Database and is a 6-point home underdog on Saturday.

The BYU Cougars were unable to pull off their third straight upset in Saturday's road game against UCLA, but they did improve to 3-0 ATS in covering the spread as a 16.5-point underdog. BYU is a 4.5-point underdog on the road this week visiting the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan has outscored its last two opponents by a combined score of 63-14.

Ole Miss is a 26-point home favorite this Saturday hosting the Vanderbilt Commodores. Mississippi turned the college football world upside down on Saturday with a thrilling 43-37 upset win over Alabama.

The Rebels will now try to avoid a letdown on Saturday against Vanderbilt. The Commodores are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 conference road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six road games overall.

Ohio State is going off at minus-28 at home against the Western Michigan Broncos. Western Michigan is 5-1 ATS in its last six games in September. The Buckeyes are 0-2 ATS over their last two games.

Meanwhile, the line on the Utah at Oregon game will likely come out later this week when the status of quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is updated.
