In the wide-open SEC East, this matchup could possibly set one of these teams to make a run.
How to watch Tennessee vs. Florida on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
On Saturday we’re going to party like it’s NINE-TEEN-NINETY-FIVE.
Florida picked up a needed close win over Kentucky last week, extending the nation’s longest series winning streak to 29 games. The 14-9 victory wasn’t pretty, with just a combined 486 yards of offense from both teams. But it was still a step forward for Jim McElwain’s squad, closing things out with a late interception by freshman Quincy Wilson. Redshirt freshman Quarterback Will Grier passed for just 125 yards with an interception, but rushed for 61 and a touchdown.
Tennessee handled its tuneup game with Western Carolina, 55-10. Joshua Dobbs completed 15 of 21 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while the Vols combined for 210 yards rushing among nine players. In some ways Butch Jones' team is still trying to get past its Week 2 heartbreak against Oklahoma, but there is still a lot to play for as the Vols start conference play.

Three big things to know
1. Pass Rush
Tennessee's front seven on defense came into this season, but they've only generated five sacks through three games, and none last week against over-matched Western Carolina. Derek Barnett, Curt Maggitt and Co. would like to get going against Florida's offensive line, which has only allowed five sacks in three games despite a spate of injuries in camp.
2. Contrast of Styles
Tennessee’s spread attack averages 46 points per game and is about to run headlong into Florida’s tough defense, currently second in the SEC at allowing just 15 points per game. The Vols are rushing for 246 yards per game against Florida’s scant 55 yards allowed, so we might just get a clearer picture on these units.
3. Another streak on the line
The Gators held off the ending of one streak last week, and they’ll try to extend another on Sunday. Florida has won 10 straight against Tennessee, dating back to Urban Meyer’s first season in 2005. Butch Jones is in need of a marquee win after the Oklahoma loss, so getting back on the positive side of the ledger against the Gators would buy the coach some political cache with the fan base.
