How to watch UMass vs. Notre Dame on TV or online, plus 3 things to know

It shouldn’t take the Irish long to deal with the Minutemen.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish catch a break between ranked opponents, welcoming the UMass Minutemen to Notre Dame Stadium.

The 0-2 Minutemen are coming off a fairly competitive loss to Temple, but at just an 18 point a game average doesn't sound like much of a challenge -- they lost by 34 to Colorado. Massachusetts is led by senior quarterback Blake Frohnapfel, who passed for 393 yards and three touchdowns in last week's loss.

As for Notre Dame, the 8th-ranked Irish handled No. 14 Georgia Tech 30-22 in a fashion that Spencer Hall described as "bored" in appearance. Sophomore quarterback DeShone Kizer completed 21-of-30 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown in his first start, while senior tailback T.J. Prosise blew up for 198 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

How to watch, stream and listen

TV: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, NBC, Dan Hicks and Doug Flutie on the call.

Radio: Notre Dame, UMass

Online streaming: NBC Sports Link

Spread: Notre Dame is favored by 28.5 points.

Make friends: Irish fans can chat about the game at One Foot Down, while UMass fans can hit up Hustle Belt.

Three big things to know

1. William Fuller

The Notre Dame junior ranks seventh in the nation in receiving yards per game at 132.3, with five touchdowns in three games, including the dramatic game winner versus Virginia. He’ll match up with a UMass secondary allowing 7.7 yards per pass attempt, the second-lowest figure in the MAC.

2. The Kizera

Credit The Solid Verbal’s Ty Hildenbrandt for the name, but Notre Dame’s new quarterback had a helluva debut and followed that up with a solid outing against Georgia Tech. Now, he gets a chance to get even more settled against a weak defense.

3. Jaylon Smith

The Irish’s star linebacker leads the team in tackles and tackles for loss and forced a fumble last week against Georgia Tech. The Minutemen average a paltry 96 rushing yards on the game, so Smith could pad his stats a bit.
