Jim Harbaugh might be Michigan’s secret weapon at QB

Jim Harbaugh hasn’t announced his starting QB. Jim Harbaugh’s taking pregame snaps. Hmmmm?

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who has not yet named a starting quarterback for Thursday night’s opener at Utah, might be planning on playing quarterback himself. Prior to the game, Harbaugh was taking snaps and making handoffs to his halfbacks.

Later, Fox Sports 1 named Harbaugh as Michigan’s “impact player” for the night. Is this a mistake, a liberal interpretation of the term “player,” or a sign that Fox Sports 1 knows more than anyone else?

Harbaugh went 22-3-1 in his two seasons as a full-time starter at Michigan. His two possible choices, Jake Rudock and Shane Morris, are 14-14 as starters. In other words, Harbaugh might be his own best option under center.

Want to see if Harbaugh makes himself quarterback? Can a middle-aged man throw passes in khakis and no pads? Find out by tuning into Michigan-Utah on Fox Sports 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET!
