Ole Miss vs. Florida 2015 betting odds: Rebels favored over Gators in clash

The Mississippi Rebels and Florida Gators put their undefeated seasons on the line when they square off in Florida this Saturday night.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida Gators are 8-2 straight up and against the spread over their last 10 games. Florida is a 7-point home underdog, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com, and the Gators are 2-5 SU and ATS in their last seven games as a home underdog. The Gators will try to pick up an upset win at home when they host the Ole Miss Rebels this Saturday night in Gainesville.

It looked as though the Florida Gators were down and out last week, trailing 27-14 at home against Tennessee as a 1-point underdog. But with two touchdowns in the final five minutes of regulation, the Gators rallied to win and improved to 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS on the season with a 28-21 win.

Since blowing out New Mexico 61-13 in its season opener, Florida has won each of its last three games by a touchdown or less.

In four meetings against Ole Miss since 2002, the Gators are 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS, according to the OddsShark College Football Database. Florida was a double-digit favorite in all four of those games.

Rebels vs. Gators OddsShark Matchup Report

As many expected, Mississippi had a bit of a let-down performance at home against Vanderbilt last week coming off the big win at Alabama. Still, Ole Miss came away with a 27-16 victory despite failing to cover as a 27-point favorite. Even with the sub-par performance offensively, the Rebels are still averaging 54.8 points per game on offense while allowing only 19.3 points per game. Ole Miss is just 2-5 SU and ATS in its last seven conference road games.

Saturday’s total is currently set at 51.5 points. The UNDER is 6-1 in Mississippi’s last four games on the road and 3-1 in the last four games between the Gators and the Rebels.

This is an interesting matchup for both teams. Florida has looked good this season, especially on defense, but it hasn’t played a team of Mississippi’s caliber yet. Ole Miss picked up a huge road win against Alabama, but still needs to prove that it can win away from home.

The spread makes this one a close call, but in the end look for Mississippi’s superior offense to eventually pull away with a win and cover.
