Charlotte and Georgia State are playing some quality daytime football in the Georgia Dome on this lovely Friday to help welcome us to the college football year. It’s the first-ever FBS game for the Niners -- in fact, it’s their first game ever against an FBS team -- and they’re off to a rousing start:

Georgia State got the ball ripped away and while everybody was standing around, Charlotte’s Terrance Winchester was off to the races for a 43-yard score. Quite an FBS start for Charlotte, who are only two years away from losing a game to Division III Wesley.

Our Bill Connelly ranked Charlotte 128th out of 128 in the FBS on account of "they had never played an FBS game before," but at this rate they're certainly looking 127th or higher!
