Texas and No. 11 Notre Dame may not be a matchup of top-10 teams right now, but it is two traditional college football powers with two of the largest fan bases in the country. You can bet that millions will be tuned in to NBC on Saturday night.
How to watch Texas vs. Notre Dame on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Which traditional power can get 2015 off to a great start?
For Notre Dame and Head Coach Brian Kelly, it's a chance to set a tone for a 2015 season with some real expectations. Plus, taking it to the Longhorns' strong defense would be a good sign that Malik Zaire is ready to lead the offense to some new heights.
For Texas, it's a chance to get a statement win for Charlie Strong in his second season. Notre Dame's defense, led by Jaylon Smith, should be stout so if the Longhorns' embattled offense can move the ball, it will be a strong sign for some success in the Big 12. Quarterback Tyrone Swoopes is set to get the start, hoping to build off a very inconsistent 2014.

Three big things to know
1. Freshmen, freshmen everywhere!
Texas will have six true freshmen in its starting lineup, including the left tackle, wide receiver and starting middle linebacker -- five-star prospect Malik Jefferson.
2. Yes, you are getting old.
Corey Robinson, son of The Admiral himself, David, projects to start at one of Notre Dame's receiving positions, as does Torii Hunter Jr., son of the former All-Star outfielder.
3. History
The Longhorns and the Fighting Irish have only met 10 times previously, and this will be the first meeting since a mid-90s home-and-home series that the Irish swept.
