Clemson’s Shaq Lawson keeps lining up offside against Bama, maybe because he’s hurt

Check with the sideline!

ESPN

Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson was rumored to be injured in the lead-up to Monday night’s national championship game. Instead, he’s playing — and is either so eager to play that he can’t stop lining up offsides, injured enough that he’s looking for an edge, or injured enough that he can’t get down in his stance.

Clemson was flagged on the first instance, wiping out a tackle for loss, but Lawson got away with the second and third infractions, though the Tide ran for seven yards on the latter.

Alabama coaches might mention this one to the refs, but if it’s not even helping Clemson, why bother?
