Texas A&M vs. Alabama 2016 live stream: How to watch online

Will the Aggies be back to pestering the Tide?

Are the days of No. 6 Texas A&M being a thorn in No. 1 Alabama’s side returning? Since the 2012 Johnny Football game, the Aggies haven’t beaten Alabama. They’ve only come close in 2013, the only other time they faced the Crimson Tide with Manziel at the helm. Texas A&M is out to prove they’re for real and nothing would do that better than a win over the Crimson Tide. The Tennessee win was huge, but detractors will point to the fact that the Vols almost came back and won the game as well as Tennessee having quite a few players succumb to injuries. Beat Bama and there will be no doubters.

Alabama isn’t just good this year, they’re good with offense. It’s like the bully realizing not only is he bigger and stronger than you, but he’s faster than you too and because of that all bets are off. If this game becomes a track meet, Alabama has the horses to win at that pace and look good doing it. It may even be the style of play the Tide are more suited for (so have fun). The Crimson Tide have eclipsed the 30-point margin in every game this season and have scored 49 points in each of their last two outings. Points may not be at a premium on Saturday if A&M’s offense can exploit Bama’s defense. And that remains an elephant-sized if.

Three big things to know

  1. The Crimson Tide continue to do this crazy thing where they score a non-offensive touchdown at a reliable rate. Alabama has now done it in their last nine games going back to last season. Seven defensive players have scored TDs this season. It’s ridiculous.
  2. Remember when Bo Scarbrough did this last week? It may not surprise you, but Nick Saban was not very amused by the actions of his running back. He said the young man who Scarbrough taunted “needs people to look up to in the world” and that his RB did not set a good example for himself with his actions. For his part, that “young man” wishes he would have hi-fived Scarbrough back.
  3. A&M under Kevin Sumlin is synonymous with the passing attack, but it’s the ground game that has really powered the Aggies this season. Texas A&M rushed for an absurd 9.9 yards per carry in the game against Arkansas and are No. 7 nationally in rushing offense with 274.3 yards per game on the ground. You’ll never guess who leads the nation in rushing defense: Alabama. Styles make fights, and this one should be good.
