Why Pitt star Ejuan Price plays football in cutoff shorts

Who wears short shorts? The Pitt senior defensive lineman does!

No seriously, we aren’t kidding when we say this. Pittsburgh defensive lineman Ejuan Price has been known for wearing incredibly short football shorts throughout the 2016 season. Usually these football pants that players wear are supposed to fall right before the knee. But not Price’s, seen here Thursday night against Virginia Tech.

Some members of the media began asking Price earlier in the season about how the short shorts started. Price said former Pitt defensive back and Cleveland Browns cornerback K’Waun Williams got him into the idea of wearing less during games.

Hilariously, Price might be breaking an NCAA rule here by showing off his thighs — knee pads per NCAA rules must be half an inch thick, and need to be covered by actual pants.

We’ll see if Price gets into any actual trouble for this, but if he’s made it this far into the season, he should be okay. Price is having an incredibly successful senior season so far. He currently leads the country in quarterback sacks per game, and ranks third in tackles for loss per game. After making 48 tackles in 12 games last season, he finished third for ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
