Meanwhile, Ole Miss is currently riding a two-game losing streak. The Rebels lost two weeks ago to Arkansas 34-30, and then dropped last week’s game to LSU 38-21, bringing Ole Miss’ record to 3-4 on the season. When it comes to this series’ history, Auburn leads it all-time with a 29-11 advantage.
The first-ever meeting matchup between these two schools was back in 1928, a game Ole Miss won 19-0. The Tigers fare pretty well playing Ole Miss on the road -- Auburn has a 10-3 record in games played in Oxford.

Three big things to know
1. Auburn is on fire offensively: This is especially true in the first quarter for the Tigers. In Auburn’s last three games, against Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, and Arkansas, Auburn has outscored opponents, 49-0, in the first 15 minutes. The Tigers have also been able to average 51 points in the last three games as well. What’s even more impressive is that Auburn has been able to outscore its opponents, 150-24, over the last 11 quarters.
2. Tigers RB Kerryon Johnson will play: This is good news for the Tigers, but probably not the best news for the Ole Miss defense. Johnson missed last week’s game against Arkansas due to an ankle injury he suffered during the Mississippi State game the week before. Prior to going down with that injury, he led the team in rushing with 538 yards and six touchdowns. Last week the Tigers turned to running back Kamryn Pettway in Johnson’s absence. He ended up having a career-high night, rushing for 169 yards.
3. Ole Miss has struggled defensively: The Rebels’ “Landshark” defense has been consistently stout in recent years under head coach Hugh Freeze, but it’s been a tough go-around defensively this season. Ole Miss is allowing 31 points per game, and has given up at least 30 points to teams four times all season. If the Rebels can’t figure out things defensively this week against Auburn, it could be a long night for Ole Miss.
