There’s nothing like tailgate season, especially in the SEC. In fact, every time Florida and Georgia play, it’s known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Here’s a case-in-point:
Police confiscated more than $500 worth of alcohol from one underage Florida-Georgia tailgate

This is from one tailgate.
We took the liberty of counting up the bottles for you. That’s 25 handles of Skol vodka* and six of Captain Morgan rum.
*For those of you too snobby to get drunk off glorified rubbing alcohol, that’s the clear liquor of choice at many college parties. Regional variants include Aristocrat, Taaka and Zelko.
Just how much money did these kids lose?
Skol is currently going for $11.89 in Jacksonville, and Captain is going for $20.99.
Even at those bargain deals, we’re looking at a hefty price tag.
That’s $423.19, total. Without tax. On hard liquor, tax is around $6.50 per gallon. That means these bottles also would have racked up another $100.75 in taxes, which brings us to a whopping $523.94.
That’s more than the cost of season tickets, swirling away down the drain.
