South Carolina player apologizes for this 2-punch combo against Tennessee

The Gamecock DB was ejected from the game.

Well, you don’t see this in a football game every day. Early in the Tennessee-South Carolina game from Columbia., S.C., Gamecocks cornerback Chris Lammons was ejected after throwing punches at Tennessee wide receiver Jauan Jennings.

Lammons was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on the play and subsequently was ejected. Lammons played in all seven of South Carolina’s games, and he has 29 total tackles on the season.

He issued an apology for his actions from his Twitter account on Saturday evening.

The penalty allowed the Vols to get a first down, which they would then capitalize on, scoring a touchdown to tie the game up at 7. Lammons may have cost the Gamecock defense a touchdown there with the penalty. South Carolina was able to take a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter.
