Wyoming knocked off undefeated Boise State, and this player’s safety dance says it all

The Wyoming Cowboys have pulled off their biggest win in years, knocking off No. 13 Boise State in Laramie, 30-28.

The winning play came on a Chase Appleby strip of BSU’s Brett Rypien, with the ball bouncing out of the end zone for a safety. Take a look at this and see if you think it’s a fumble or an incompletion:

Since it was ruled a safety on the field, officials would’ve needed conclusive evidence that Rypien’s arm was already moving forward in a passing motion in order to overturn it.

The Cowboys picked up a first down on the subsequent drive to seal the upset.

With the win, Wyoming takes over first place in the MWC’s Mountain Division and now controls its own destiny in the conference.

The Broncos’ bid for a New Year’s Six bowl now depends on Wyoming losing, and probably a little bit of help from other conferences as well.

The Cowboys haven’t won a conference since the WAC in 1993, haven’t had a winning season since 2011, haven’t been ranked since the 1990s, and had never beaten Boise State before.

Oh, and Craig Bohl’s 6-2 Cowboys are bowl-eligible now.
