Batman kicked a field goal at the Memphis-Cincinnati game. No, really.

He might not be the hero Cincinnati’s football team deserves, but he’s what the Bearcats have right now.

Batman kicked a field goal at Cincinnati’s game against Memphis on Friday night. Here is the evidence of the Batman kick:

The backstory here isn’t totally clear. It was some sort of TV timeout promo at the Bearcats’ Nippert Stadium, and a gentleman in full Batman attire headed to the 20-yard line, his task to knock through a somewhat long field goal. And he did it!

(The video looks like it’s slightly inside 30 yards, but I don’t care. This is great.)

Memphis is absolutely drubbing Cincinnati in the game itself, so this was probably a needed respite for the fans in attendance.

The Bearcats are on their way to a 4-7 record and missing a bowl. They didn’t get into the Big 12 earlier in the fall, and Tommy Tuberville had it out with a fan on his way off the field, telling him to “get a job” and “go to Hell.”

The night is dark right now. But they say the night is darkest just before the dawn, and now Batman is here, so things might be fine going forward.
