As the noted Connecticut resident on staff, the state’s claim to fame academically is unquestionably Yale. I mean, it’s probably the best University in the country so that’s not some stretch of the imagination. When they’re not getting naked in the stands, Yale students are training to be the future titans of industry and the Fortune 500 bosses of tomorrow.
Watch Yale make Harvard look dumb on this onside kick
Nerd-on-nerd crime, in my opinion.

Sometimes it takes some trickery against your equally intelligent rivals to get a job done.
Yale won, 21-14.
Now onside kicks in tight games to swing momentum aren’t anything new. Think back to last year’s national championship game, for instance.
But Yale deserves some credit here for the unrelenting chutzpah that it took to run that type of onside kick.
There is no telling what an oblong ball will do when it hits turf, especially when you take a running swipe at it with your foot. It can go left in plenty of ways, and the entire coverage team has to sell it so Harvard doesn’t sniff out that something is awry. But they’re only thinking deep kick here and get burned.
That’s a Crimson player still backpedaling as the Yale kicker is already down on the turf. It’s not every day you get to bamboozle a Harvard man, but you’d better take the chance when it comes.
