There’s nothing funny about a man who’s enduring what is probably the toughest professional experience of his life. And having to do it every week in front of millions of people.
Watching Charlie Strong process the fact that he’s probably fired is sad
Sports are actually bad.

“No idea,” is the answer to the all important questions surrounding Strong’s job security, but he knows what the deal is. We’ve all seen this Texas team vacillate between fine and trainwreck all season. The 24-21 OT loss against Kansas sure seems like the final nail in the coffin, and there’s nothing in that video that leads me to believe Charlie doesn’t realize the jig is probably up.
He’s a proud man; I imagine he hopes and believes he could get it turned around with more time. And hey, maybe he could. But at Texas, you don’t get that time. When you lose like his team has or when you lack consistency, Austin isn’t exactly going to be a patient place.
Charlie Strong will get another chance in this business; he’s too good not to. But his days in Texas are most likely done.
