But the Eagles would not be denied in their second season ever being bowl eligible. Eastern Michigan finishes the season at 7-5, the third-most wins in school history. The season has had its ups and its downs — after starting the year 4-1, the Eagles went 2-4 in their next six and have limped to the end of the season. But this boost sends them into bowl season in a big way after a huge turnaround in coach Chris Creighton’s third season.
