Lamar Jackson didn’t have a great day in Louisville’s rivalry loss to Kentucky. Jackson threw three interceptions, and his crucial fumble late in the game gave UK a chance to drive the length of the field and win the game.
After losing to Kentucky, Bobby Petrino didn’t like this question one bit
He wasn’t pleased.

After the loss, coach Bobby Petrino didn’t respond well to a question about whether Jackson (who was sacked three times on the day) could be even more mobile than he already is. It’s also worth noting that the play Jackson fumbled on was actually a run.
You can see most of the full presser here, but note the part where it cuts off before Petrino actually walks off.
The question that prompted the curt response was:
“Coach, it seemed like there were some opportunities for Lamar to escape the pocket and get out and scramble earlier, kinda taking some sacks that weren’t necessary. Do you think he’s almost trying to stay in the pocket too long? You wanna see him get away earlier?”
Petrino was frank in defending his quarterback: “Really? That’s a bad question right there. Lamar competes his butt off and does everything he possibly can to help us win. He’s had an amazing season and used all the talent that God gave him, and that’s a bad job of questioning him. Thank you.”
And with that, he was out.
In total, it was just over four minutes, but the length of the press conference isn’t terribly noteworthy. After the previous loss to Houston, Petrino took questions for just under five minutes.
And of course, this is far down the list of things folks could have a problem with in Petrino’s history as a head coach.
