Alabama offensive tackles coach Mario Cristobal is expected to join Willie Taggart’s Oregon staff, 247Sports’ Ryan Bartow and ESPN’s Brett McMurphy report.
Ace recruiter Mario Cristobal leaving Bama for Oregon’s coaching staff
Willie Taggart adds another former head coach in Eugene.

SB Nation’s Steven Godfrey has confirmed that Cristobal will be co-offensive coordinator and run game coordinator.
Sources said Cristobal was offered the position prior to Alabama’s National Championship game versus Clemson, but that the coach waited to speak with Tide head coach Nick Saban before taking the position.
Cristobal joined the Crimson Tide staff in 2007 following six seasons as head coach at Florida International, where he took the Panthers to back-to-back bowl games. Cristobal’s role with the Tide was diminished in 2016 when Brent Key joined the staff to coach interior line play.
Cristobal is considered one of the country’s top recruiters, ranking in the top 10 of 247Sports coach rankings two years in a row.
Taggart is working to finalize his staff, having brought on a mix of his South Florida assistants (assistant head coach and co-OC David Reaves and running backs coach Donte Pimpleton) and new faces, including former Colorado defensive coordinator and USF head coach Jim Leavitt.
