On paper this one looks like a blowout waiting to happen: One great offense against one bad defense. The winless Baylor Bears will travel to Boone Pickens Stadium to face the No. 14 Oklahoma State Cowboys in a Big 12 showdown at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday on FS1 (livestream). [This game is now on Fox Business Network.]

Baylor (0-5) is off to a horrible start this year. This defense surrendered 36.2 points per game this year, and currently allows a 44.2 percent success rate — ranking 102nd in the nation out of 130 teams. Offensively, Baylor averages 27.2 points per game, but the defense has to step up to help out the offense.

Oklahoma State (4-1), on the other hand, is lethal on offense, averaging 46.8 points per game this season. This unit has a 49.6 percent success rate, which is eighth-best in the nation. Baylor will have its hands full against the Cowboys’ high-octane offense.

Denzel Mims is My President: His Path to Becoming a Dominant Wide Receiver

During Baylor’s loss to Liberty, Denzel Mims made a series of brutal mistakes. He dropped good throws. He failed to stay in bounds. And perhaps most troubling, he didn’t fight through press coverage, which led to a pick-six that proved the difference in Baylor’s stunning loss to the Flames.

Four weeks later Mims is one of the country’s best wide receivers. A look through his work on the field and off reveals how he’s pulled this off.

James Washington named to ESPN Midseason All-American List

Oklahoma State’s leading receiver scored another honor today. James Washington has been announced on the ESPN midseason All-America team. With 28 receptions and 647 yards at about the halfway mark, Washington is putting his name in award voters minds.

Baylor vs. Oklahoma State prediction

Oklahoma State will win this game by a large margin. Baylor’s defense isn’t playing well this year, and that unit doesn’t have a chance to neutralize the Cowboys’ potent offense.
