Something very strange happened during Saturday night’s edition of #Pac12AfterDark between the USC Trojans and the Arizona State Sun Devils. ASU had just one play left before halftime, and Sun Devils quarterback Manny Wilkins chucked up a Hail Mary. Miraculously, receiver Kyle Williams appeared to make the catch in the end zone, but the officials ruled he caught it at the 1-yard line.
USC and Arizona State left for the locker rooms, but had to come back out for an extra point, because the Pac-12 is weird
A lot going on here.

After the officials’ ruling, both teams headed to the locker room, per usual at halftime.
But there was one problem — the officials were still reviewing that Hail Mary after both teams had already left the field.
The officials then reversed the call and ruled it a touchdown, meaning ASU had to kick the extra point, by rule.
BUT EVERYONE WAS ALREADY IN THE DANG LOCKER ROOMS. The teams were so long gone, one of the referees had to walk to get them to come out:
Even the band had already come on the field — the officials had to kick them off!
USC head coach Clay Helton was livid, and he was the only one representing the Trojans on the sideline.
After about 10 minutes of all of this, the special teams from each school came out from their respective locker rooms to kick the extra point.
Weirdly, USC brought out its entire team, too. Anyway, the kick was good, which made the score officially 31-10 at halftime.
Stay weird, late night Pac-12 football.
