The Boise State Broncos are currently undefeated in the Mountain West Conference and need just two more regular-season wins to reach their first conference title game since 2014. The Broncos will inch closer to a conference title game if they defeat the Colorado State Rams, their conference foes, on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET. CBS Sports (livestream) will broadcast the action from Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.

The Broncos and Rams will lock horns this weekend in Colorado.

Boise State (7-2, 5-0) is on a five-game win streak. The Broncos aren’t strangers to lighting up the scoreboard, averaging 31 points per game this season. But the key to victory for them in this head-to-head matchup is neutralizing the Rams’ lethal offense. Colorado State averages 484 yards per game and is 16th in the nation in total offense.
Speaking of the Rams (6-4, 4-2), they dropped two consecutive games this season — but they aren’t eliminated from playing in the conference game. Colorado State’s defense surrendered 30.5 points over the last two weeks. The Rams need to play better on defense to have a legitimate shot at winning this head-to-head match.

Boise State vs. Colorado News
The Broncos 2018 class inched closer to capacity as they landed their second big wide receiver commit in as many days this morning with the verbal pledge of Vista Murrieta WR Khalil Shakir (6’1” 175 lbs). Shakir was part of a large contingent of weekend visitors to The Blue but one of only a few that hadn’t already pledged their loyalties to the Broncos. Alas, the atmosphere and camaraderie were enough to tip the scales for Shakir and he committed this morning to Boise State—something quickly trumpeted (in NCAA compliant ways) by Coach Harsin.
The 6’1 175lb receiver had offers from nearly the entire MW as well as BYU. He has 36 catches for 769 yards and 12 total TDs. Bowens makes 3 wide receivers in this class along with John Hightower and Stefan Cobbs. I don’t yet know how many receivers the Broncos will take, but I would guess they have room for one more.

Boise State vs. Colorado prediction
Boise State is playing at an extremely high level, and it should increase its winning streak to six games on Saturday. Indeed, Colorado State will take the fight to Boise State, but the Broncos are a dangerous team right now, especially on offense.
