This USC fan’s T-shirt wonderfully trolls UCLA basketball’s Chinese shoplifting scandal

We hope he at least bought the shirt.

Rivalries are supposed to be petty, with little jokes fueling the animus year after year no matter what happens on the field. USC checks that box with this incredible T-shirt.

The reference is subtle and it crosses multiple sports. In early November, three UCLA basketball players — LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill — were detained for shoplifting from a mall in China.

The luxury retailers are famed for, among other things, their glasses. This was quite literally an international incident that ended up getting the president involved.

Although LaVar Ball, father of Bruins player LiAngelo, disputed Trump’s efforts.

“Who?” Ball told ESPN when asked about Trump’s involvement in the matter. “What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out.”

Either way, the whole deal is now being used for the best possible purpose by USC fans: mercilessly trolling their rival. What’s more American than that?
