Watch this 2-point attempt somehow turn into a Hail Mary heave

This is an excellent video game play.

You could watch football for a long time and not see a play quite like this one:

That’s North Texas quarterback Mason Fine throwing a Hail Mary pass. On a two-point conversion. From the other team’s 3-yard line, where all college two-point attempts originate. And it somehow worked, which makes it all the better.

Fine got pressured pretty significantly by FAU, which was on its way to destroying UNT in the Conference USA Championship Game Saturday in Boca Raton. Fine backed up from the line of scrimmage to his own 22, a drop-back depth of about 19 yards. And he threw up a prayer that came down in the middle of a huddle of FAU and UNT players.

The four Mean Green guys won out, as the ball deflected into the arms of UNT’s Rico Bussey Jr.. It didn’t matter, as FAU was still in the midst of a blowout win. But it ruled.
