What started as a normal Longhorn Network telecast devolved into hilarity when former Longhorns RB Ricky Williams offered a bit of analysis on Missouri QB Drew Locke. He says he’ll likely throw for 320 yards in the Texas Bowl.
Ricky Williams offhandedly refers to himself as ‘the high guy’ on live TV, then loses it
As do his co-hosts.

Williams pokes fun at the frustration of a production meeting when you sit around and figure out who’s going to say what during a segment. Williams says he “wanted to be the high guy,” when projecting Locke’s performance and immediately realizes how the statement will play as it’s coming out of his mouth.
The best part isn’t just Williams busting out laughing here or his other co-analysts, but his co-host asserting that “you already are,” to bust his chops.
The joke here, of course, is that WIlliams smokes a ton of weed. It got him into some trouble with the NFL back when he was a player, but he’s never really been shy about it. He’s currently pushing to make weed gyms a way of life.
“I feel like I finally found a cause that I’m passionate about,” he said. “It’s about raising awareness and raising money to push the initiative in this country to regulate cannabis, and get people out of prison [for nonviolent cannabis-related offenses].”
Williams has never been shy about who he is. That’s at the core of what he’s trying to accomplish with the golf tournament and with cannabis in general.
“We’re trying to start a movement,” he said. “It’s not about cannabis to me, really. It’s more about people realizing that they have a voice and that they can change. But cannabis right now is a great example of how that works. Or how it could work.”
For now, he can be the high guy with football analysis.
