Notre Dame recruiting letter predicts 48-10 win over Michigan in 2018

Hold ’em to it, folks.

This is a trading card shared by four-star 2018 defensive back recruit Derrik Allen, a Notre Dame commit from Georgia. It includes a fictional post-college career bio for Allen, including the line, “As an immediate impact player, Allen played in all 12 regular season games. He made his Irish debut in the 48-10 victory over Michigan, recording 10 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 FF and 2 INT.”

ND’s sent Allen a lot of other cool stuff, too. He’d ranked Michigan in his top 10.

The overly dramatic Notre Dame-Michigan rivalry hasn’t been played since 2014, when the Irish shut out the Wolverines, 31-0. Like a lot of ND’s many rivalries, it’s an on-again/off-again kind of thing, with the most recent run of annual games only going back to 2002. UM leads the all-time series, 24-16-1.

They’ll meet again in 2018 in South Bend and 2019 in Ann Arbor.

(Also, 48 is an interesting number for Notre Dame to choose as its score against Michigan, seeing as ND’s 2016 record was 4-8.)
