2 recruits commit to Texas A&M in the same video

Safety Leon O’Neal Jr. and defensive end Max Wright come together to verbally commit to the Aggies.

Texas A&M gets two for the price of one with the combined commitment of four-star prospects Leon O’Neal Jr. and Max Wright. Respectively, they’re a safety and a defensive end. Now, they’re headed to College Station to play college ball.

Both players are in the top 100 nationally and the Aggies are going to need to do their best to continue any momentum possible on the recruiting trail. The reality of the situation is that bitter rival Texas isn’t going to stay down long on the recruiting trail after experiencing a disappointing transitional recruiting class on signing day back in February.

The Aggies were able to usurp the Longhorns a few years ago as the cool team in the state when Kevin Sumlin came to town and rode Johnny Manziel to success. It helped that it’d been a while since the Longhorns were contenders for a title, and now it’s been over a decade since they last won one.

But if that changes with Tom Herman as the new head coach in Austin, it’s going to be tougher for the Aggies to keep securing top talent in-state like O’Neal and Wright.
