A University of Virginia cornerback, Chuck Davis, is entering his Fourth of July weekend with a whole lotta luck on his side. Earlier this week, Davis won $100,000 by playing a Virginia state lottery game called Cash 5. The redshirt freshman cornerback said that he played the winning ticket on his way home from an early-morning workout while he was picking up coffee for his mom.
Look how happy this UVA player is after winning $100,000 in the Virginia lottery
This is just so great.

“I looked at the numbers on the website after the drawing and said, ‘I… won!’” he said via the Virginia Lottery. Judging by his most recent Instagram, he’s happy to have picked the numbers he did.
Davis took a redshirt with the Cavaliers last season, and he was a former three-star recruit per 247Sports from Ashburn, Va. During his senior season at Broad Run High School, Davis was a was first-team all-conference as a wide receiver and defensive back, and he was a first-team all-state defensive back, as well.
After his high school career, he played the 2015 season at Fork Union Military Academy. He was with Nebraska for the Cornhuskers’ spring season before landing at UVA.
Davis says that he celebrated the winning ticket with his grandmother.
“We shouted together!” Davis said.
Davis showed his excitement about his winnings by quoting a Drake lyric from his verse on Metro Boomin’s new song “No Complaints,” which is honestly probably something I’d do if I just became $100,000 richer.
He seems to have some plans on how to use at least some of his winnings.
Given how hard these guys work, and that they don’t get much money outside of the stipends they have for housing, food, and school expenses, you can’t help but be happy for Davis. Enjoy that extra cash, my man.
