Houston’s college football teams are dealing with a massive storm.


Area Division I football programs have taken precautions.
Houston, whose campus is closed, has relocated practices to the University of Texas, where former UH head coach Tom Herman is in charge now. UH will attempt to return after the weekend.
Sam Houston State’s Sunday night home game against fellow FCS top-10 team Richmond has been postponed, with no makeup yet scheduled.
Rice is on the road, playing Stanford in Australia on Saturday night. Head coach David Bailiff commented on the situation back home, saying Rice’s campus has proved safe in hurricanes.
Texas Southern is also on the road, at Florida A&M, playing in the first Division I game of the year. TSU’s campus released early on Friday.
Houston Baptist and Texas State don’t play until next weekend, but all campus events are canceled this weekend.
