Clemson at Virginia Tech on ABC/WatchESPN at 8 p.m. ET is your headliner, but as always, there’s plenty of quality elsewhere ... once we get past the early going.
Saturday, Sept. 30 college football schedule
Early shift
Sakes alive! So, one rule of the Watch Grid: Try to pick at least one WATCH THIS game in each time slot. I really can’t do that to you in this batch. ECU and Temple have been terrible, Vandy-Florida might result in 12 yards, Maryland has roughly no quarterbacks, and a Northwestern upset of Wisconsin would probably come via muffed safety. What’s that? We’re about to find out.
Middle shift
BUSINESS PICKS UP, technically. I’m guessing Dawgs-Vols will be the biggest game of the day, as far as public interest goes, even if only due to people rubbernecking at Butch Jones. Elsewhere, plenty is going on.
Late shift
The night spot includes the most important game of the day, and anyone in need of late-night fireworks can rest assured that the OSU-TTU/Cal-Oregon/CSU-Hawaii trio will provide it, with backing by other West Coast noise and lights.
