The Georgia Bulldogs are trying to win their first national championship in decades, and they didn’t get off to a good start on their first possession against Alabama.
Georgia’s first drive in the National Championship ended with a wild interception
Not the start Jake Fromm and the Dawgs were looking for.

After winning the toss, the Tide chose to play defense first, and it paid off after freshman Jake Fromm threw an interception that senior Tony Brown fought for:
It was a spectacular play by Brown, who made Fromm look his age with the pick. It wasn’t necessarily a terrible throw, but it was a smart and great play by the senior, getting his first interception on the season after having two in 2016.
Fromm came into the game having thrown just five interceptions against his 23 touchdowns. It’s not a mistake that Fromm’s used to making, similar to Sony Michel’s fumble in last week’s Rose Bowl.
We’ll see how Georgia recovers, but early on, Alabama looks like the team that’s been here before.
