Nick Saban’s Alabama football teams are known for their discipline, and usually for just downright being better than everybody else.
Alabama just committed its first turnover in a title game in 376 snaps
That’s a lotta snaps!

Under Saban, the Crimson Tide have never turned the ball over in a national championship game on offense, until Monday night when freshman Tua Tagovailoa threw this interception to Georgia’s Deandre Baker:
Tagovailoa appeared to be trying to either throw the football away, or force one as he was getting hit. Either way, it broke Alabama’s streak under Saban:
To be fair to Tagovailoa, it’s not an easy situation to be thrown into. Jalen Hurts started the first half, but after Alabama wasn’t able to get anything done on offense, Nick Saban went to the freshman.
Other than his interception, Tagovailoa had some rushes, and threw a touchdown pass to get Alabama within 13-7, before Georgia made it a 20-7 game.
Alabama got a field goal after Tagovailoa’s interception, however, thanks to a Big Guy interception from Raekwon Davis.
