Oklahoma doesn’t have much room for error in its quest to earn a third College Football Playoff invitation. The Sooners clocked in at No. 6 in the latest CFP rankings, and a second loss in 2018 would all but guarantee they’ll miss out on this year’s final four.
Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma 2018 live stream: Bedlam time, TV channel, and how to watch online
Bedlam is back.

The stakes for Oklahoma State aren’t nearly as high. The Cowboys fell out of the rankings in the midst of a 2-4 slide, and its possible Mike Gundy’s team misses the postseason altogether. A win over their in-state rival wouldn’t just make OK State bowl eligible, it would also trash the Sooners’ national title hopes.
So while Saturday’s show down may look like a blowout on paper — Oklahoma is a 20-point favorite at home — but there’s plenty of intrigue in the Sooner State.
Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma prediction:
The S&P+ ratings tag the Sooners as the nation’s No. 4 team. Oklahoma State clocks in at No. 23, which is pretty good for a team with a 19-point loss to Kansas State. The Cowboys should have the juice to keep this one within the spread — and that’s what the numbers see happening — but it’s going to be a tall task to escape Norman with a win Saturday.

Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma news:
- Was last week’s loss to Baylor a motivating factor, or a reason to punt on the rest of the season?
- The Sooners could win out and still wind up on the outside looking in at the College Football Playoff.
- It’s only Lincoln RIley’s second season as the Sooners’ head coach, but he’s intimately familiar with Bedlam.
Will the Oklahoma defense be able to shut down the Cowboys?
The Sooner defense certainly looks like its Achilles’ heel. Oklahoma gave up 48 points in its lone defeat to Texas and got touched up for 46 points last week against Texas Tech. That’s scary with an Oklahoma State team that’s scored 38+ points in six of its nine games this fall.
The Cowboys can move the ball behind quarterback Taylor Cornelius (321 yards, three TDs vs. Texas) or tailback Justice Hill, who is en route to his third-straight 1,000+ yard rushing season. Either could be disastrous against an Oklahoma team that gave up 324 passing yards, 177 rushing yards, and six touchdowns in that loss to the Longhorns.
