No. 15 Florida is facing South Carolina on Saturday at home, and in the second quarter, Gator QB Feleipe Franks scored a 10-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at 14 all. After the score, Franks celebrated by...shushing his own home crowd at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

This is likely due to the fact that was booed last week in a loss to Missouri.
This end zone he scored in is typically Florida’s alumni side, so it’s not like he was directing this to Gamecock fans. And in the fourth quarter when he scored another rushing touchdown to give his team a 35-34 lead, he did it again to the same end zone!
After the game, Franks’ head coach Dan Mullen didn’t seem too upset about the gesture:

It’s not often you see a QB at home do this, but this makes sense given how Franks’ last couple weeks have gone.
Last week against Missouri, Franks was benched for back-up Kyle Trask in a 38-17 loss to the Tigers at home on Homecoming — there were even boos for Franks at one point during the game. Trask finished with 126 yards and a passing touchdown in the game, and a lot of Gator fans were hoping Trask would be the guy moving forward. Here’s more from Alligator Army:
After another disappointing outing from Florida quarterback Feleipe Franks against Missouri in the Gators’ loss on Saturday, Florida fans got to see his backup, Kyle Trask, for the first time in a regulation game. But while Trask was received rapturously by those fans — his first completions, and the touchdown at the end of his first possessions, were honored with loud cheers from many of the same fans who booed Franks and Florida’s offense in the first half — it is clear that Florida coach Dan Mullen’s preference at QB is a lot harder to figure, and seems likely that it differs from Gator Nation’s.
That Mizzou performance was one week after Florida’s loss to Georgia, in which Franks struggled for the majority of the Gators’ 36-17 loss, finishing with an interception and a fumble.
Mullen didn’t exactly explicitly say how much both quarterbacks would play Saturday against South Carolina, but that suspicion was put to rest after Trask broke his foot while practicing a trick play in practice.
With the injury, Franks is obviously the guy for Florida the rest of the season. Franks finished the South Carolina game with three touchdowns, including two on the ground, 197 total yards, and led the Gators to a win over their former head coach Will Muschamp. That might be enough to silence his critics and warrant his his shushing a bit!
