Folks, we finally have it — the greatest touchdown celebration in the history of football. During the Ottawa Redblacks’ home game against the Toronto Argonauts in a Friday night CFL game, Redblacks’ offensive lineman Jon Gott celebrated one of his team’s touchdowns by epically taking a beer from a fan’s hands and chugging it in the end zone. Yes, it was amazing as you’re picturing:
This epic beer chug is officially the greatest touchdown celebration ever
God bless you, Canadian Football League.

Here’s another angle, from the fan’s point of view — it’s just as perfect:
Look at this textbook chugging form, even while he’s in full pads and has a helmet on! That’s how it’s done, folks.
The Redblacks ended up winning this game, naturally, and I’m sure it has everything to do with Gott’s celebration. Gott has been in the CFL since 2009, where he was drafted after playing his college ball at Boise State in 2008. Kudos for Gott to having the creativity and awareness to pull this amazing chug celebration off.
We’ve seen beer-related celebrations before, but none quite like this. In 2017, UCF’s kicker celebrated a field goal by simulating shotgunning:
Speaking of UCF! Before the Knights’ game against Maryland the same year, a Terps student famously caught a beer, smashed it off her face, and then shotgunned it in one fluid motion.
Thank you for your service, beer heroes.
