Auburn’s game-winning missed field goal return touchdown against Alabama in 2013 is the most memorable play in recent college football history. It left an imprint on the people who watched it unfold in person, but also on fans all over the world. So much led up to it:
9 unique ways people have recreated the Kick Six
People have done some things you would guess and some things you absolutely wouldn’t.

It’s a play that will live in history as one of the greatest ever, and rightfully so. The Kick Six is so well known, even compared to other, lowercased kick sixes, that artists and creators have been recreating the play in their own unique formats since not long after it happened, Let’s run through some of the best, in no particular order.
1. This dope Tecmo Bowl animation
The artist responsible for this gloriousness is Kyle Mac, who has a ton of these videos on his YouTube channel.
(This isn’t the only cool Auburn-related Tecmo Bowl thing. Never forget Bo Jackson’s Tecmo Bowl avatar is perhaps the most destructive force in video game history.)
2. A wedding cake
3. THIS EPIC LEGO VERSION
It’s just so good!
The attention to detail here is so impressive, and I loved how Jacobs included both Nick Saban walking off the field:
And even the shocked Alabama fan!

4. Using classroom lights to simulate the time remaining on the clock before Alabama’s missed field goal became the Kick Six
The night before the 2015 Iron Bowl, a clever artist used those lights to show the 00:01 left on the game clock before the kick-six. The Haley Center is a library on Auburn’s campus:
According to the artist who came up with the idea, the whole thing took two hours to do. Via The War Eagle Reader:
“I mapped it all out. I drew a map of all the windows,” The Artist says. “I went through and got all the doors ready, hall by hall, floor by floor. I got all the doors barely cracked. I pulled the shades up and turned the lights off.”
Then he set up for his attack run.
“I ran down each hall, flicking the lights on and then locking the door behind me.”
5. A ROBOT PICKING A FOOTBALL UP OFF A GOALPOST
What’s even better? This robot won eight-grader Lauren Bill a science fair at her middle school. Her father gave the details of her inspiration and creation to The War Eagle Reader:
We were at the game as a family that night and it is one of our fondest memories. She learned how to write a program to make the robot back up to the end zone, rotate the arm to grab the ball, follow a line on the field to recreate the run, and then do a celebration after scoring. She used the school’s VEX EDR robot she helped build for a competition last year and developed a software program to complete the task. She ensured the timing was set to mirror the radio call of the play.
6. This painting depicting Chris Davis taking it to the house, called The Runback
The artist who painted it is Daniel Moore, and you can even purchase the painting on Amazon!
7. A Spotify playlist that mimics Auburn’s radio call
Here’s that call:
And here’s the playlist, from AU fan Cameron Adams:
It’s not perfect, but I respect the creativity.
And there are other attempts that didn’t work out as well, but points for trying.
8. A high school baseball team from Georgia trying to recreate the play by acting it out inside Jordan-Hare Stadium
9. A lemon rolling down the street
Yeah, that’s exactly like the Kick Six.
