Florida’s rowdy punter got 2 two personal foul penalties in the same game

This is what legends are made of.

Florida is losing to Missouri on Homecoming, but more importantly, the Gators’ punter got two penalties in the same game. The first one was originally flagged for targeting in the third quarter, but it was reviewed and called as unnecessary roughness.

Then in the same quarter, Townsend was given a personal foul penalty for a late push that seemed pretty harmless, but he was flagged anyway:

My favorite part is Townsend’s reaction after realizing he was flagged:

Townsend never left the game, so both of the fouls apparently weren’t ruled as unsportsmanlike, which would have warranted an ejection.

Townsend is the younger brother of Johnny Townsend, Florida’s former punter who is now with the Oakland Raiders.

Florida may not win the game against Missouri, but these two penalties are my personal favorite highlights from this game. Not one but two penalties against a punter should be celebrated, imo.
